Zest

Zest is an automotive concept developed as an exploration of inclusive performance design, harmonizing aesthetic preferences across diverse driver expectations. Inspired by the falcon, the vehicle translates avian anatomy into automotive architecture — the headlights interpreted as focused eyes, the front fascia as a refined beak, the sculpted doors as unfolding wings, and the rear volume as a tapered tail. This biomimetic approach generates a dynamic yet elegant silhouette, balancing precision, sharpness, and fluidity within a cohesive design language.

The concept investigates both physiological and psychological dimensions of automotive appeal. While performance-oriented drivers often prioritize dynamism and acceleration, others value comfort, storage, and practical usability. Zest integrates these expectations into a unified architectural solution, combining sporty proportions with a thoughtfully organized interior that supports everyday functionality. The result is a vehicle that communicates energy and agility while maintaining ergonomic intelligence and spatial adaptability.

Structurally, the chassis is conceived in CFRP (carbon-fiber reinforced polymer) to ensure lightweight rigidity and impact resistance. Energy absorption elements are integrated strategically within the front structure, including carbon-fiber conical crash modules and a progressive shock-absorbing energy trunk. Door panels incorporate carbon-fiber wave absorbers, while body panels are envisioned as natural composite sandwiches composed of linen and cork bonded with epoxy resin. This material strategy allows the vehicle to achieve structural safety while reducing weight and environmental impact. Recycled aluminum wheels further reinforce the sustainability narrative.

The exterior design is distinguished by butterfly-style wing doors that echo the falcon’s motion in flight. Instead of conventional rearview mirrors, camera systems transmit real-time imagery to a central display, enhancing aerodynamics and technological integration. Wheel design was approached as a separate sculptural study, drawing inspiration from the radial geometry of the water lily to introduce organic elegance into the vehicle’s stance. Nature remains a consistent reference throughout the design process, guiding proportion, motion, and surface articulation.

Zest is envisioned as a high-performance eco-conscious vehicle equipped with a full hybrid plug-in (PHEV) propulsion system. The combination of a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine with synchronized electric motors delivers substantial output while optimizing efficiency. More than a technical exercise, Zest represents a study in how advanced engineering, sustainable materials, and nature-inspired design can coexist within a cohesive automotive concept defined by balance, precision, and forward-thinking performance.
